Helping and the Original Sensory Garden

I think it's so cool how this guy takes ownership of filling his great grandma and great grandpa's bird feeder, even if he won't talk to them while he's there . . . he takes a while to warm up. I'm glad we can help them in this.


I also saw this in their garage while there this morning . . . I'd say this is a precursor to the ever popular sensory bin of today. It used to have a big plant in the middle and sat behind a chair near the kitchen. It had little rocks, fake mushrooms, a little nest or basket, driftwood, dirt, etc. I remember standing here and arranging things and arranging things again. Makes me think we all need a little sensory garden . . . loose parts!
